Philadelphia Workforce Investment Board

Paragraph's work with the Philadelphia Workforce Investment Board began when we created A Tale of Two Cities, a report that examines the origins and implications of Philadelphia's labor force challenges, their impacts on the city and its economy, and our opportunities to overcome them in the future.

With the release of the report came increased attention. To help the organization make a greater impact, Paragraph worked to redefine the organization's brand. Paragraph refined the organization's mission, vision, and key messages and created brand communications to help the internal staff and board understand and communicate the value of the brand. Putting all the puzzle pieces together, Paragraph then wrote, designed, and developed a new Philadelphia Workforce Investment Board website.

The site serves two roles. Primarily, it focuses on the issues discussed in A Tale of Two Cities and creates an environment where Philadelphia as whole can work towards shared solutions. Secondly, the site introduces the public to the organization's new brand. Customizing Movable Type for content management, the site allows internal staff to update the site regularly, sharing results and celebrating success.

Paragraph is currently working to create additional communications collateral tools and standards. These will allow the Philadelphia Workforce Investment Board to produce data, research, and reports in a consistent and self-sufficient manner across many print and digital mediums.
